Description
The Honeywell Searchline Excel™ Edge Open Path Gas Detector is an advanced open-path infrared gas detection system designed to provide long-range perimeter and fence-line monitoring for flammable hydrocarbon gases. With a detection range of 60 to 330 meters (196 to 1,082 feet), it provides rapid detection even in harsh and changing environmental conditions, including low-visibility environments. The system uses near-band infrared technology with advanced algorithms, dual-reference measurement, complex filtering, and high dynamic-range transmission and reception technology to support reliable gas detection. It responds to a wide range of hydrocarbon gases including methane, ethane, propane, butane, pentane, hexane, ethylene, and propylene, with a T90 response time of less than 3 seconds. Bluetooth® connectivity enables simplified setup and maintenance, while the advanced alignment scope, automatic alignment test, built-in health testing, event logging, and window clarity diagnostics support efficient operation. The Searchline Excel™ Edge features a high-visibility multicolor LED HALO ring, 4–20 mA output, HART®, Modbus, three relay outputs, and a robust 316L stainless steel housing for demanding industrial applications.
