Description
The Honeywell SS4 Flame Detector family provides advanced electro-optical fire detection for demanding industrial and commercial environments. The SS4-A uses Multi-Spectrum™ sensing across ultraviolet, visible, and Wide Band Infrared™ wavelengths, while SS4-AS is optimized for hydrogen, ethanol, methanol, and methane fires, and SS4-AUV uses solar-blind ultraviolet detection with ruggedized UV sensors. Intelligent FireLogic™ and microprocessor-based signal processing evaluate multiple spectral signatures to distinguish genuine flames from potential nuisance sources. The detectors feature adjustable sensitivity, a wide 120° field of view, built-in optical “through-the-lens” testing, programmable alarm verification, and compatibility with standard approved fire alarm panels. With an explosion-proof copper-free aluminum housing, IP66/NEMA 4 protection, wide operating temperature capability down to -40°C, and configurable fire, verification, and fault relays, the SS4 Flame Detector is suitable for gas compressor stations, gas turbines, power plants, aircraft hangars, warehouses, co-generation facilities, and hydrogen or silane storage areas.
