Description
The Search & Rescue Training Manikin is designed to help Police Forces and inland water rescue agencies develop realistic search and casualty recovery skills. Based on the construction of the Man Overboard model, it features deliberately less-visible black protective overalls to make the manikin harder to locate in water, increasing the challenge during search and rescue training exercises. A supplied black mask can further conceal the brightly coloured head during daytime searches, while the SOLAS reflective tape can be exposed at night to improve visibility when required. The manikin’s buoyancy can be quickly adjusted by moving foam pieces between the chest pockets and legs, allowing it to float at any angle between vertical and horizontal. Polypropylene strips provide flexibility while helping prevent the body from bending in half when used with stretchers or recovery equipment such as a Jason’s Cradle. The manikin can withstand a 5–6 metre fall into water and features a rear loop for lowering into position or hanging to dry. Replaceable protective overalls and boots help extend service life, while its non-absorbent closed-cell foam and water-resistant construction support repeated water rescue training.
