Description
The Man Overboard Training Manikins, also known as “Dead Fred,” are purpose-built for realistic Man Overboard (MOB) training, maritime rescue drills, and casualty recovery exercises. Used for professional water rescue training, the manikins combine carefully controlled weighting and buoyancy with a tough nylon mesh carcass, allowing water to penetrate rapidly and the legs to naturally descend below the surface while the head and shoulders remain visible. Adult and Youth models can be configured to float horizontally or vertically, simulating different casualty conditions by repositioning the internal foam within the protective overalls. Polypropylene strips provide flexibility while helping prevent the body from bending in half during stretcher or recovery-device operations, and an additional polypropylene strip extends through the neck and head for increased neck support. Bright orange protective overalls and SOLAS-compliant reflective tape make the manikin highly visible in open water. A rear handling loop allows controlled lowering and convenient drying, while replaceable overalls and boots help extend service life. Manufactured in the UK to ISO 9001:2015 standards, these MOB training manikins are suitable for maritime organisations, naval forces, coastguards, fire and rescue services and professional sea rescue training.
