Description
The Patient Handling Training Manikin is designed to improve patient moving and handling training within healthcare environments, helping trainers teach safe lifting, transferring, hoisting, and evacuation techniques. Developed with UK NHS professionals and hospital manual handling coordinators, the manikin features an elongated plastic spine that allows it to sit upright in a bed, wheelchair, or hoist, simulating the positioning of a conscious patient. Plastic thigh strips help prevent excessive bending during hoisting, while detachable arms and legs allow amputee simulation and make the manikin easier to transport and position. Soft body joints help reduce pinch welts and bruising, while additional weight in the lower body improves positioning in slings, chairs, and wheelchairs. Wrist Velcro straps provide multiple arm-positioning options during hoisting. Adult manikins can also accommodate an immobilisation/extrication collar for casualty-care training. The 30kg model includes weighted and unweighted soft feet, while the 50kg model comes with weighted feet only. Constructed from flame-retardant material conforming to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, BS EN ISO 12947-2 and BS EN ISO 14116:2008, the manikins are tough, easy to clean, and suitable for regular healthcare training.
