Description
The Bariatric Conversion Suit provides a practical solution for bariatric rescue and patient-handling training by converting any adult Ruth Lee Duty Range manikin into a water-weighted bariatric manikin. The lightweight suit can be positioned by one person before water is added, making it useful for training environments where space is restricted or a full-weight bariatric manikin is difficult to position. Constructed from a high-specification Cordura/Butyl/Polyester trilaminate fabric, the suit is waterproof, flexible, and hard-wearing, with triple-stitched seams and hand-applied 38 mm Aquatape for enhanced leak protection. Up to 150 kg of additional weight can be added using water, with the included flow meter allowing trainers to monitor the weight in litres, where 1 litre of water equals approximately 1 kg. The complete kit includes soft boots, adapters, two short filling hoses, water flow meter, and carrying holdall. Once filled, the manikin is designed to be handled by a team of 4–6 people and is suitable for bariatric rescue, patient handling, healthcare, ambulance, fire and rescue, and general safety training.
