The 3M™ Bayonet Particulate Prefilters are NIOSH-approved filters designed to add particulate protection to 3M™ Bayonet Style Gas & Vapor Cartridges, helping to protect against certain solid and liquid particles such as dusts, fumes, and mists. These filters are compatible with a range of 3M™ Half and Full Facepieces, including the 6000, 6500/6500QL, 7500, and 7800 Series, as well as 3M™ Scott™ AV-3000 Facepieces when used with the AV-632 Bayonet Adapter. The filters are equipped with advanced Electret Media (AEM) for lightweight, easy breathing comfort and can be easily replaced, offering a cost-effective solution without needing to change the entire cartridge. They are held in place by the required 3M™ Filter Retainer 501, ensuring proper fit and secure attachment. These filters are ideal for use in environments containing certain oil (P95) and non-oil (N95) based particles, providing respiratory protection up to 10 times the OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) with half facepieces and up to 50 times the PEL with quantitatively fit tested full facepieces. However, they are not suitable for environments that are immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH).
