The 3M™ Acid Gas Cartridge 6002 provides NIOSH-approved respiratory protection against a broad range of acid gases and vapors in industrial and hazardous environments. Designed for use with 3M™ Half and Full Facepiece Reusable Respirators, such as the 6000, 6500, 7500, 7800S, FF-400 Series, as well as the 3M™ Scott™ AV-3000 SureSeal and AV-3000 HT, this cartridge offers versatile protection with easy installation and compatibility. Featuring a bayonet-style connection, the 3M™ Acid Gas Cartridge 6002 locks securely into place with a simple quarter-turn twist. Its swept-back, low-profile design optimizes the user’s field of vision and provides a well-balanced fit, enhancing comfort during extended use. The cartridge is lightweight and designed with low breathing resistance, allowing for easy breathing throughout the workday. This cartridge uses carbon particles to adsorb harmful acid gases, providing protection from concentrations up to 10 times the OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) with half facepieces, and up to 50 times the OSHA PEL with quantitatively fit-tested full facepieces. It is suitable for a wide range of industrial applications and helps reduce inventory needs by being compatible with multiple 3M™ respirator models. The 3M™ Acid Gas Cartridge 6002 is not intended for use in environments that are immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH) or those with hazardous levels of airborne particulates. For optimal protection, the cartridge should be replaced according to a documented change-out schedule or earlier if any odors, tastes, or irritation from contaminants are detected.
